I received See Kai Run shoes in the Bryant washable sandal style (Runners) and the Finnley leather sneaker style.
Ordering shoes online seems to be a bit of guessing game for me, especially when ordering shoes for someone else (my toddler). Therefore, I inquired about the fit of See Kai Run shoes before selecting the styles and sizes.
How do See Kai run shoes fit?
- Leather closed toed shoes fit relatively true to size
- Sneakers fit relatively true to size
- Sandals tend to run large, order 1/2 size down
- Skimmers run small, order 1/2 size up
See Kai Run - Bryant sandals in Black with green and blue trim are my favorite outdoor play shoe for my son. Though I prefer leather shoes, washable shoes are a must have for a little boy who loves to be outside. The Bryant sandals are made from a synthetic washable upper, a padded collar, and a flexible rubber outsole. I really like the rubber outsole because it grips very well, even when the shoes are wet and are touching wet ground. The dual adjustable hook and loop closure allows for a great fit for a skinny or a fuller foot. It also makes taking the shoes off very easy. For children's shoes, I prefer for the shoes to open up so that I can get my toddler's foot inside of them. I also like the option to adjust the shoes. This is why velcro is important.
Fit: The length of size 7 fits pretty true to size. I would even say the length is a little longer, but my son is not tripping on his shoes, so I assume they fit well. Both straps cinch down very well, so I can get a good fit of the sandals around his skinny foot. The top strap is almost to the end.
Results: My son wears the Bryant sandals when its hot outside, when we are playing in the yard, or we have a pool/water table play date. When we play in the yard, my son loves to go climb in the garden with me or walk through the mulch, which ends up getting on his sandals. Clean up is easy with a few sprays of the hose. The shoes dry quickly. He loves wearing the sandals.
See Kai Run - Finnley closed toed leather shoes in Gray with orange and blue racing stripes are a great classic sneaker that is appropriate for most occasions. Finnleys are made from leather and canvas with a rubberized leather heel and toe. Rubberized means that the leather has a pattern of small perforated holes. The insoles and lining are also made from leather, which makes the shoes breathable. The adjustable hook and loop strap and faux laces make getting the shoes on and off really easy. The outsoles are made from rubber and are scruff-resistant. Again, I really like that the adjustable strap makes it easy to put the shoes on and remove them.
Fit: The shoes are just a little long on my 2 year old right now, so I am going to save them for the Fall. As the See Kai Run website states, the colors of the shoe are great for the fall. The width of the shoe is pretty standard. Thin or thick socks would work well for my son's slim foot.
Results: The Finnley shoe is a great all around shoe to have in my son's closet. The shoes look great with shorts or with dress pants for church. My favorite outfit is a pair of slim jeans with the Finnley shoes. I love the look of jeans against the grey and orange. Though they are a little to long on him, he had no problems walking in them and enjoyed running around the house.
I did have an issue with the leather tabs on the back of the shoe. When I was trying to put the shoe on my toddler, I grabbed the leather tab to pull the shoe on. It ripped off! A few days later, my husband did the same thing with the other shoe and the leather ripped off again.
I would highly recommend See Kai Run shoes for 3 reasons:
- High quality materials (leather top/insoles and rubber outsoles)
- Designs are made for growing feet
- Comfortable
