Supa Herbal Greens is a very concentrated herbal supplement. As the above states, the ingredients are high quality, organic, non-irradiated, and are additive free. Basically, you get 100% herbs within the capsule. I usually have a hard time finding natural supplements that are additive-free, especially Magnesium Stearate-free supplements, so I was really excited to try this brand. One of my goals for this year was to add more super green foods to my diet. The Supa Herbal Greens supplement is a great addition and I feel great about taking the supplement because of the organic ingredients.

I also like the ingredients combination of not only super green foods, but also raw seeds and nuts, garlic, and sea greens. I took 2 capsules per day and noticed that my energy did not dip as much as usual throughout the day. Otherwise, I did not notice a significant improvement. I bet if I took 3 capsules up to 3 times a day, my energy would be really high. My goal for taking this supplement is for preventative health.

The vegetarian capsule is a standard smaller capsule and it easy to take.

Affordable Eucalyptus Oil [review]

My essential oil collection has grown over the years, but I still keep a few basic essential oils on hand. Eucalyptus oil is a basic essential oil that should be part of every natural medicine kit. Eucalyptus oil has so many uses, including decongestant and antibacterial uses. The Essentials Co. pure eucalyptus oil is an affordable pure essential oil.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil (eucalyptus globulus) has an herb-like smell to it. It is very distinctive! Eucalyptus globulus is the most common essential oils recommended for its decongestant properties. The country of origin is not specified. The oil is bottled in the US. The bottle is 4 oz and is made from dark amber glass. Storing essential oils in dark glass bottles is the best way to keep the high quality and protect them from going rancid.

The benefits of eucalyptus essential oil include decongestant and antibacterial. Eucalyptus oil has been used by centuries of healers and homemakers to treat skin problems and infections, help clear congestion from colds, flus, and chronic sinus problems, and banish stains and stinking bacteria from their homes.

Our Uses: In our home, we mainly use eucalyptus essential oil as a decongestant. My favorite way to use the oil is to make a homemade chest rub by diluting eucalyptus essential oil with a carrier oil like olive oil or jojoba oil. I apply this mixture directly on the chest and sometimes on the bottom of the feet. I also like to diffuse eucalyptus essential oil and add a few drops to a warm bath or shower. In general, I find that eucalyptus essential oil helped to loosen up any mucus in the airways and allows for easier breathing.

Caution: Essential oils are very concentrated and it is recommended that it be diluted for any topical uses. If applied directly to the skin, essential oils must be diluted in an appropriate oil (Jojoba Oil and Grapeseed Oil make the best carrier oils, but can also use Sweet Almond Oil or Olive Oil). Some literature also recommends against using eucalyptus essential oil with babies and small children. Please contact your doctor or medical professional about this. While we have used eucalyptus globulus on our 3 year old son since he was about 2 years old, this is generally not recommended. We have not had any adverse reactions like coughing/asthma (even though he has outdoor related asthma), so I feel comfortable using the chest rub with him. Generally, diffusing the eucalyptus essential oil is better for babies and small children.

My Thoughts: I have been reviewing more affordable brands of essentials oils lately. While the quality is pure and the essential oils are undiluted, I have found that the more affordable brands have a weaker scent of the essential oil (when compared to more expensive brands that I own). I have done a lot of research on the quality of essential oils over the past year. My conclusion is that the more affordable essential oils might not be the first or second distillations. Some herbs/plants are put through the "process" several times, so the 4th and 5th distillations are still pure, but not as potent.

All you need after a hard day is to escape to another world once in a while, and nothing does the job quite as well as a movie.

My favorite movies are romantic comedies. They make me laugh and make me feel better. Choosing something lighthearted versus an action movie or a scary movie is the way to go. Cuddle up with the one you love and relax at home without spending a fortune.

Pro EM-1 Liquid Probiotic Supplement is a fermented liquid probiotic made with organic ingredients and naturally occurring microorganisms. The company only uses live viable and active microbes (never freeze dried). The fermentation process produces active metabolites, including enzymes, co-enzymes, amino acids, organic acids, bacteriocins, and other bioactive micronutrients. Fermentation is a natural process that makes vitamins and minerals more available, but also provides our GI system with healthy bacteria.

The liquid probiotic comes in a dark navy plastic bottle. I do wish that the bottle was glass, but I am glad that it is dark to preserve the natural organisms. Pouring the bottle has been a bit of a challenge because of the way the opening is designed. When the bottle is very full, some of the liquid did drip down the side of the bottle. I have been experimenting with pouring quickly or slowing to see if it helps.

This list of ingredients is one of the simplest for probiotic supplements. Even in natural supplements, sometimes it is hard to avoid fillers that are required to make the product work or make the supplement easier to digest and get absorbed into the body. I like the simple ingredient list. The liquid probiotic is gluten-free and dairy-free. The mix of microbes is a little bit different than what I have read on probiotic capsule supplements and that is due to the fact that this is a raw, fermented product. I strongly believe in the power of fermentation and am glad I found this product.

Usage: The recommended dose is 1 tbsp per day, taken with meals. The liquid probiotic can be mixed with water or juice. I have also been adding 1 tsp to my toddler's yogurt.

Results: I have been taking it directly and then chasing with water. The taste is somewhat pleasant to me. I have been taking about 1-2 tsp per day and have not experienced any discomfort. If you experience discomfort, reduce the amount day and gradually increase. Since I have began taking probiotic supplements (most of the days lately), I feel like my digestion and bowel movements are regular and of a good quality. In general, I have not had any GI issues like gas, bloating, constipation or diarrhea. I do feel like taking the probiotic supplement on a regular basis has helped my GI system.

Fennel Essential Oil for Asthma [review]

Essential oils are a big part of my life, especially during the flu season. I mainly use essential oils for healing and boosting immunity. I also use essential oil to deodorize my home and for use in homemade cleaning products. When our Pediatrician told us that our has Respiratory Affective Disorder ("pre-asthma"), I started researching how I could use essential oils. We were already eating clean and organic, using homemade and natural cleaning products and body products. There was really nothing but whatever allergens were outside that were causing his respiratory issues. After a lot of research, I found out that there were many essential oils that were targeted at respiratory issues and asthma. Simply Earth Fennel Essential Oil is a high quality, unfiltered, undiluted essential oil with many beneficial uses.

Usage: The main ways I have been using fennel essential oil is diffusing it on the first floor open living space. I add about 5 drops in water to the essential oil diffuser. I also plan on using fennel essential oil (diluted) as a chest rub.

The odor is medium strength and it lasts for a very long time. With some essential oils, the scent tapers off after a while, but the fennel scent is present until the diffuse uses all the water up. I really like that the scent is long lasting!

I love the generous 15 oz bottle and the long lasting scent of the Fennel Essential Oil. Everyone in our family has had a cold or outdoor related allergy coughing over the past 2 weeks. I have been diffusing this oil every day and feel like it has helped us to heal quicker. With the high quality and affordable prices from Simply Earth, I would recommend this company!

Organic Coconut Oil Softgels [review]

Coconut oil is one of my favorite all purpose oils. I use coconut oil for cooking, moisturizing, healing red and irritated skin, and as a supplement. When I purchase coconut oil, I look for organic, extra virgin coconut oil to ensure that I am getting the highest quality with the highest amount of vitamins and nutrients. Eukonic proposes that the coconut oil supplements support a health heart, weight loss, and provide more energy. I feel like the coconut oil supplement is great for prevention. Although I have not noticed any weight loss (not currently trying to lose weight), I noticed a bit more energy during my recent race training. I felt like my body could push a little more during my runs. This only occurred when I was taking the softgels twice a day. Although I did not experience significant changes, I feel like taking an organic coconut oil supplement is a great approach to staying healthy.

The size of the softgels is a bit on the bigger size. My husband has difficulty taking "horse pills," so he turned his nose up at the size of these. However, I found that they are easy to swallow with a swig of water. Based on the size of the softgells and the additional ingredients, I would assume that 2 softgels provide about 1/2-3/4 of a teaspoon of coconut oil. I know this is quite under the recommended daily intake of coconut oil. However, if you are incorporating coconut oil in your diet in other ways, you would be ingesting much more.

I love to write about natural products. There are so many more on the market these days. I also love to find natural alternatives to prescription and OTC medications. When I came across an ancient blend of honey and yohimbe, I was intriguided. Honey Bee Hard is not your standard honey. Honey Bee Hard is a natural male libido enhancer.

Let's talk about the ingredients. Ginseng gives an energy boost because it boosts endurance. Honey is a natural sugar, so it gives an energy boost without the sugar highs and lows. I really like that Honey Bee Hard is using raw unfiltered honey as this is the best form of honey. Horny Goat Weed (Epimedium) is a natural herb used for low libido and for sexual performance problems. It is also used to arouse sexual desire. Saw Palmetto enhances sexual drive by working as an aphrodisiac. Tribulus (Bindii plant) is used for male virility, male sexual problems, and general vitality. Maca (Lepidium Meyenii) enhances energy, stamina, and athletic performance. It is also used for male sexual problem and to arouse sexual desire. Oats have long been known to increase sexual libido in both men and women. Oatmeal, for example, produces a chemical that releases testosterone, which helps increase sexual drive. Vitamin B helps to regulate sex organs, which correlate with the amount of sex hormones released. Yohimbe arouses sexual excitement and helps sexual problems in both men and women.

I like that the ingredients are all natural herbs and supplements. I also like that most of the ingredients would help improve sexual problems in both men and women, though the ingredient research did not make me thinks that this product would be appropriate only for men.

Usage: Shake vial. Take 1 vial 30-45 minutes before sexual physical activity.

The honey elixir was thick was room temperature and only about 75% of it would come out on its own. I warmed up a cup of water and placed the vial in it. This helped to warm it up a bit and make it more viscous.

The results of drinking Honey Bee Hard will be different for everyone as herbs and supplements work differently on everyone. If you are looking for a "boost," then give Honey Bee Hard natural honey elixir a try.

GoPure Lavender Essential Oil [Review]

Essential oils have become a good part of my life over the past few years and especially recently as I try to reduce my son's reaction to outdoor allergens. I love using essential oils to boost immunity during the flu season or to help  me stay more calm and relaxed during a challenging day. Not only are essential oils great for keeping your body healthy or for treatment of conditions, but they are also great for natural scent and homemade cleaning products. Lavender Essential Oil is one of the most commonly used essential oils and is a great starter essential oil.

GoPure Naturals Lavender Essential oil is 100% natural and undiluted. The country of origin is Bulgaria. The oil is bottled in the US.

I have lavender essential oils from several different brands. From my experience, essential oils will smell different based on the country of origin, the land they are grown on and even the time of the year that they are harvested. No two lavender essential oils are going to smell the same unless they were grown in the same location and harvested and processed at the same time. Nonetheless, this lavender essential oil smells strong and floral. Just what I would expect from a therapeutic grade, pure lavender essential oil.

The main benefits of lavender essential oil are:

1. Improve mood
2. Fight insomnia
3. Calm the mind
4. Neutralize stress and anxiety

Usage: The main ways I use lavender essential oil is to add to homemade body products like facial scrubs, to diffuse 5-10 drops in water in the essential oil diffuser when I feel stressed and on edge, and to put a few drops on my pillow at night to help me sleep. Since this oil is 100% pure, it is very concentrated. A little goes a long way.

Opportunities for Improvement: The soft plastic part of the dropper top seems to let the scent of the oil through. The bottle only comes with the dropper top, while other brands ship their oil with a hard plastic cap. I like having the dropper top and would like to see the company invest in a better quality top. I have two other 4 oz bottles of essential oils with the dropper caps by 2 different brands. One of the brands does not let the oil scent through. The second brand lets the scent through and the essential oil actually started to crystallize on the dropper top. The essential oil scent stays on my fingers when I use the dropper and even made my whole fridge smell like peppermint essential oil. Not too bad for freshness, but my food started to smell and taste like peppermint essential oil. I assume this is what is going to happen with the dropper top because they seem to be similar in materials.

I love the generous 4 oz bottle of the Lavender Essential Oil. This bottle will last a long time. I plan on using the lavender essential oil for home made body products and in the diffuser. I would like to see GoPure Naturals move toward organic certification to ensure no pesticides or unwanted chemicals in the lemon oil. The price is reasonable for the quality and the amount of essential oil.
